Lyn Baier’s daughter, Greta, was born in 2008 and was diagnosed with Nemaline Myopathy at 20 months of age. Originally from Iowa, Lyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Northern Iowa and then moved to New York City where she earned her Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from New York University. Lyn has worked in Higher Education for over 20 years and currently oversees a first-year seminar program at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Her professional work focuses on connecting first-year student to the university and her passion for encouraging personal connections carries over into her work with the NM community. She enjoys developing relationships with NM families and has hosted five summer gatherings that bring in large numbers of families from around the world. Lyn and her family are committed to hosting NM gatherings during the summers where a formal conference is not held. Lyn lives with her wife, Kate, and daughter, Greta, in New York City. She enjoys the theater whenever possible, loves listening to podcasts and is active in her church.
