Run or Walk 26.2 Miles For Nemaline Myopathy Research
We are proud to be selected as an official charity partner of the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon.
Team AFBS in 2023
Five individuals will run the TCS NYC Marathon on behalf of Team AFBS.
Each individual selected to participate on Team AFBS will raise a minimum of $2,950 in support of AFBS and Nemaline Myopathy research. All participants will receive team apparel and will be invited to attend a pre-race event in New York City on November 5, 2023.
Why Run for AFBS?
Our mission is to find treatments for Nemaline Myopathy (NM). NM is a group of neuromuscular disorders that cause muscle weakness of varying severity. Many people with NM can’t breathe, swallow, speak, or walk on their own. It is considered one of the most severe congenital muscle conditions. AFBS is working diligently to fund researchers around the world, making great strides toward treatments.
